Operating result
Profit or loss from ordinary trading, before financing and tax.
This is operating income less operating costs. It excludes financial items — loan interest, exchange differences — and income tax.
It is a cleaner view of whether the business itself earns than the bottom line is. A company can be operationally profitable and still post a loss if it pays heavy interest.
