Net margin
What share of revenue is left as net profit. A calculated figure, not a line in the accounts.
Net margin is profit after tax divided by revenue, as a percentage. It shows how much of each denar earned the company actually keeps.
It is only comparable within an industry. Wholesale routinely runs at low single digits, software or consultancy at tens of percent — a thinner margin does not mean a worse company.
You will not find this figure in a filing. We compute it from two lines that are, and label it as calculated.
