Equity ratio
What share of assets is funded from the company's own resources. A calculated figure.
Equity divided by total assets. It shows how much of what the company owns it genuinely funds itself, and how much is funded by others.
A low ratio means greater dependence on creditors and a thinner cushion if a weak year comes. A negative ratio means negative equity — liabilities exceed assets.
