ЕДБ (tax number)
The thirteen-digit tax number. Every taxable entity has one — it is not a VAT number.
ЕДБ is assigned by the Public Revenue Office (УЈП) when an entity registers for tax. It has thirteen digits and carries no prefix.
Confusing ЕДБ with the VAT number is a common mistake. Every company has an ЕДБ; only a VAT-registered one has a VAT number. The VAT number is written as MK followed by the ЕДБ, but adding the prefix does not by itself mean the company is registered for VAT.
